The 10 firstU.S. States according to date of entry to the American Union spans between December7, 1787 to June 25, 1788, with Delaware as the first State and Virginia the 10th. Hawaii, the 50th State to be added to the United States was the last to gain entry in 1959, with Alaska, the 49th State, just ahead of Hawaii by seven months.
